Meet Aaron
I was never a “normal” kid, and sadly it took me until my early 30’s to stop resisting and start embracing that. I was trying to be someone I’m not, fit into a box that I was too big for, play a part that I wasn’t compatible with. What for years felt like my kryptonite has now started to become my superpower.
I was always told, and mostly believed, that I could do anything I want. I’ve always had an acute ability to learn, adapt, and thrive in any environment and situation. Unfortunately, when you’re easily influenced, naive, and emotional, you’re pulled in SO many different directions it’s hard to discover your true place in life, and very easy to fall into one of MANY potential traps along the way.
I fell into the trap of standard American career path… I was told to go to college to be successful, so I did. I got out and was told I’d be great at sales, so that’s what I did. I was told to work hard and move up the ladder, so I did. I did all the right things, but despite time passing and achievements being hit, I never felt like I was any closer to being fulfilled or making a difference.
Trials and tribulations came my way in my mid-20’s, and I fell into a dark place full of negative thoughts, feelings, emotions, and behaviors, eventually becoming aggressively addicted to alcohol and prescription stimulants, a pattern that took years of effort in therapy and working on myself to resolve.
Thankfully, with the help of those I love and that care about me, along with some skilled medical professionals, I was able to conquer those demons, kick my addictions, and come out even stronger on the other side. I’m thankful for what I’ve gone through and what it taught me, and hope to assist others going through similar troubles, or better yet help prepare the younger generation with tools and resources to prevent ever falling into a place like I was in.
I still believe what I was told all those years ago, that I can do anything I put my mind to… for now, I choose to venture out on my own, start my own business, try to make it big as an entertainer, and one day hopefully become an influencer of young minds and motivational speaker to those wanting to improve themselves, find their place in the world, and live their best life.
Cheers!
